INDESGUA is a formal non-profit Guatemalan civic organization created in 2007 with the primary purpose of promoting higher education and providing access to educational scholarships and loans to students and professionals. We seek to provide students with the opportunity to continue their undergraduate and graduate studies in Guatemalan and/or international institutions of higher education; with a focus on the critical areas of study necessary for the development of Guatemala and according to the individual aptitudes and capabilities of the students.

Specifics Objectives

1. To contribute to the generation of knowledge about access to higher education for young people and professionals both inside and outside of Guatemala.

2. To promote programs of cultural and academic exchange between institutions of higher education in Guatemala and abroad.

3. To promote communication and the flow of information about opportunities that may facilitate higher education.

4. To guide, advise and support students working in the process of admissions and to search for scholarships and financial aid to support their higher education.

5. To help students in the application process for scholarships and financial aid in organizations other than INDESGUA.

6. To certify the academic and socioeconomic status of applicants for scholarships and financial aid.

7. To award INDESGUA scholarships and financial aid for higher education.

8. To influence higher education policy in Guatemala to contribute to the social development of the country
